How to Fastboot on Xiaomi Phone? This is the way

RV-a - Hi! MIUI Android ROM Flashing in redmi Xiaomi 1S, MI3 and MI4 sometimes very necessary in certain cases. For example, currently when subjected bootloop (stuck on android logo), or because the system has been modified (due to rooting or installing a custom ROM).

Now in order to make it fresh again as before, and therefore requires flashing or reinstall the system.
Flashing in Xiaomi phone can be done in several ways, one of which is the fastboot method in which steps can be seen as below.

Via fastboot flashing method is not only applicable to redmi Xiaomi 1S, MI3 and MI4, but also can be used for all device types Xiaomi.

Note: A Windows PC/laptop will be needed for the following steps. Make sure that your device is fully charged or has enough power for this process. This guide will help you update your device to the latest MIUI ROM version. All user data will be purged in this process. Please back up your data and think twice before proceeding.


 Preparation :

• Prepare a set of computer operating Windows System.
• Also make sure the USB cable has been prepared. The goal is to connect the phone to a computer Xiaomi.
• Please do backup first to avoid the risk of losing important data in the internal memory (if you want to). See the article : How to Backup and Restore Data in Mobile Xiaomi.

Ok! Let's start!

1. Download MIUI ROM Flashing Tool and install it. (size : 27mb) If your device is locked, please click here to unlock it first.
2. Select the right MIUI ROM version for your phone from this link : click here
3. If the ROM has been successfully downloaded, extract the file. (please check, make sure the ROM file suffix is '.tgz'. If it is '.gz' , please change to '.tgz').
4. Run Mi Flash with 'Run as administrator'. (C:\Program files/Xiaomi/Mi Phone)
   
5. At Mi Flash application, click the Browse button and locate the folder where the ROM file.
   
6. Click Advanced, then click browser on the Fastboot Script, and then find and choose 1 ROM Script file. 

   There are 3 scripts file :

- flash_all.bat = Install ROM as well delete all user data and files in Internal memory storage Xiaomi device.

- flash_all_except_storage.bat = Install ROM and delete data user (except data stored in Internal Storage).

- flash_all_except_data_storage.bat = Install ROM and does not erase any data.

      7. Take your phone and then shut down (turn off). After that set into Fastboot Mode by press and hold Volume Down + Power button simultaneously until fastboot logo and text appears on the screen.

     8. Connect your phone to the computer using a cable USB.

     9. Back to Mi Flash app, Click Refresh button so that your Xiaomi phone is detected.

   10. After your phone is detected, click Flash button to start flashing your phone.

    11. Wait until the progress bar inside MiFlash turns fully green,  which means the ROM has been successfully installed. And your phone is restarting automatically. (you can unplug the cable)
